Community Outreach & Basic Necessities
At Birch Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing financial hardship, sudden crises, or domestic violence. We provide essential assistance through clothing, furniture, personal items, and household goods. Our op shop and referral programs help supply basic necessities such as clothes, toys, small appliances and, when available, white goods for those who need them most.
We also offer care packages for men, women and children experiencing hardship. Each package is tailored to individual needs, and an intake form helps us understand their circumstances so we can provide the right support. Our volunteers and donors make this possible, and we are truly grateful for their generosity.
Our Community Outreach Vehicle
Our community outreach vehicle is on the road two days a week, providing clothing, food and basic necessities to vulnerable people and those experiencing homelessness. We also deliver essential goods to individuals and families in crisis, whether they are escaping domestic violence or facing unexpected hardship. We do our best to ensure support reaches those who cannot come to us.
As part of our commitment to giving back, we run a Free Thursday Give-Back Initiative every week from 11 AM to 1 PM, offering essential support items with dignity and compassion.

Advocacy and Legal Asisstance to Domestic Violence Victims
Our dedicated volunteers offer court support and personalized assistance. Upon meeting our criteria, eligible domestic violence victims will receive support for referrals to trusted legal professionals for their legal needs. They may also access discounted items from our op shop and cafe, basic necessities provided free of charge for those facing financial hardship, as well as free internet, printing, and scanning services at our charity office. We strongly believe in creating a safer and supportive community, and we are here to help support domestic violence victims and those facing hardship.
In certain circumstances, domestic violence victims may need to apply for a protection order themselves. While we are not a legal practice, our organization provides referrals to trusted legal professionals for domestic violence victims in need of legal assistance. Eligible individuals, approved based on their circumstances and the organization's approved budget, may have all or part of their legal costs paid in full or in part. Through this service, we aim to assist domestic violence victims in exercising their legal rights, further supporting them in creating a safer, more empowering future.
AGED & DISABILITY SERVICES
At Birch Foundation, we are dedicated to providing support and companionship to people who are eligible and meet our criteria to use our services. Our charity relies on the commitment of volunteers who are ready to lend a helping hand and make a positive impact in the lives of others. We understand the importance of maintaining independence, and our volunteers are here to assist individuals who are eligible and meet our criteria with various daily activities such as shopping, transportation, and other essential tasks. We strive to ensure that these individuals receive the necessary support to live fulfilling lives.
In addition to our hands-on assistance, we offer informative NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) information sessions led by a support coordinator. These sessions aim to guide individuals and their families through the NDIS process, helping them understand how to access the appropriate supports. We believe in empowering people who are eligible and meet our criteria with knowledge and ensuring they have the resources they need.
Filling out NDIS and My Aged Care applications can often be overwhelming, which is why we offer assistance with the application process. Our volunteers are available to help these individuals who are eligible and meet our criteria with filling out the necessary forms, and we provide free access to internet, printing, and scanning facilities to make the process as seamless as possible. We are committed to ensuring that these individuals receive the support they need, whether it’s for support for the homeless, domestic violence victims, or inclusivity initiatives, and are empowered to live independently and with dignity.
